Hi Walter,

Can you third a motion? If so, I'm with the others. Your doc is playing it pretty fast and loose by not refilling your insulin, What would have been wrong with refilling it and still seeing you in a while?

Now keep in mind I'm not a Doctor, but I run low to moderate for ketones all of the time because I eat extremely low carb. They are a natural by-product of fat digestion by your body. If you are pretty much skipping carbs and eating mostly protein and fats with a few veggies (not potatoes!) you are probably normal.

Keep your sugar where it is. Drink water. Do your normal exercise and keep good records of all of your tests and meds.

If your ketones go any higher, call your doctor's on-call person (who will have access to your records) or find another doctor.

Sounds like you are doing a good job,

Mich
