I'm still trying to figure out how to use it though; I used a mix first and that turned out fine but all my from-scratch ones have not risen sufficiently and I think I didn't use enough flour. You can reduce the sugar by about half in most recipes. Try tasteofhome.com for some recipes.

Not sure if this will help but use bread machine yeast rather than regular yeast.
