My question is should I still be taking these pills. I was never told to not take them. They are 500mg pills and I don't remember if I took them once or 2 times a day. Can anyone help. The pills are in a sample pack that I got from the doctor the last time i visited her and don't have the info on when I should take them. I will for sure ask her when she gets back, but my number are always in the mid 200's even when I wake up. Thanks for any info.
I think since your numbers are high in the morning that your Liver is dumping glucose into your blood stream when you wake up. I've got the same problem. Metformin helps with that. You should take the dose your Dr. perscribed, but also watch your glucose levels closely since you are taking insulin too. You will probably be on insulin until your numbers fall into the normal range. This combo works faster at getting your numbers normal. I was on just metformin and it took 1 month for my early morning readings to drop.
