At breakfast today I miss calculated the muesli so maybe it’s not the best example but it highlighted the issue and it's not the first time I’ve had this spike. I guess the question is how can I combat this? Inject 15mins early or more insulin? I thought milk/muesli were fairly low GI and wouldn’t experience a spike like this, it just annoys me because I totally lose concentration and I can’t imagine is does my A1c any good. I think I might have to weigh the two separately to stop repeats.
10:50am: 5.1 & 1unit of Insulin
10:50am: eat breakfast (miss weighed muesli did about 15-20g (5carbs) more, stupid mistake I know)
12:10pm: 10.4 (feeling thirsty)
12:26pm: 8.6
1:02pm: 7.8

Milk 150ml = 7.5g of Carbs (GI 25)
Home Made Muesli 50g = 13.12g of Carbs (GI of normal (natural) muesli 57)
Containing: (no fruit)
