I tend to be very sensitive to my BG changes and this has led to much disrupted sleep. For years I had a terrible problem where if my BG was dropping, even gently.. (say 1 or 2 mmol/l per hour, through a "normal" range) it would activate me, waken me, stop me from getting sleepy. Major insomnia going on and my BG tests would keep being the same scenario - one that was basically good but with a downwards action, as if my body was aware that it would likely hit low in say 5 or 6 hours.

High and I'm zonked like a sleeping pill, and with very bad quality sleep, wake groggy, tired.

These things still occur but has been much lessened by the extra stability I have these days. At the time I got checked out for apnoea but I was given the all clear. Definitely explore that option.
