I know the feeling of trying to save a cannula that really should be replaced. Luckily for me, with my new "tegaderm HP" sandwich method the sets seem absolutely glued in place. You are indeed lucky to have that small a spike with all those carbs - I'd predict being easily up towards 18 if it were me. How did your stability go recovering in the following hours?

You should get yourself a little pump change kit for your bag, then you can change anywhere, anytime. I couldn't do without my little baggie of stuff, including everything to change a set and a syringe and spare insulin, if a shot is required to get me through a patch when I can't change the set.
