| I think we all go through a stage of trying to deny the relevance of diabetes to our lives. More often than not, it kicks us in the but and we are forced to take it seriously. Sounds like you don't have a sense of ownership of the condition. Until you accept that having diabetes is a major element of who you are, making sense of it will be very difficult. And getting it under control will be almost impossible. Coming to terms with diabetes and rising to the challenge, on the other hand, can be very liberating and empowering. Have you considered discussing this with a counselor?
