Basically using a data cable plugged into your meter you can download all the bg tests onto your computer. The software will then give you graphs and trends, its good stuff. I use winglucofacts pro with my ascensia contour and it has proved to be very useful, if you have the patients you can even enter insulin and events/exercise/meals which gives you further analysis. I enter it all and taking over from a paper log book. I can tell you now that I am 86% in target range (3.6mmol/L-8.7mmol/L) within the last two weeks, not doing so well at the moment was up to 95%. It just helps me to keep an eye on things.
