I think the "really low has a greater chance of dying" is a result of a recent high profile study done here in the US where very tight control was being tested. The research was stopped because of higher than expected mortality but there has been some outcry as to the way the study was conducted and the populations used. I believe that European health groups are continuing with their protocols related to very tight control. Stay tuned!
