My first meter was the Glucochek S.C. by Larken. I got it in 1984, and it took about
2 minutes to read the BG and took a 9 volt
battery...



The second meter I got was the Glucometer M (had a little bit of a memory in it),
and it looked like the one RobiJo posted a pic of. It took about a minute or so for a
reading (I can't remember the exact time frame, but it was a bit long, especially when
compared to meters of today!).

I still have both meters! The Glucochek still has a battery in it & still kinda works (with the exception of when we upgraded, we had to give the little piece that holds the strip in place, which was supposed to render the meter useless).
