Hey hello rob, Welcome to the DF forums and I see that Kit has found you and a nice chick too. I see that your mom is a type 1 too. Well you have come to the right place where fellow diabetics help each other and share a laugh every now and then. Do you have something with you when you go and skate board as this is a healthy activity and good on ya!

but i have No friends with diabetes or know anythign about diabetes, which makes **** hard for me at times.
i came on here because i want to talk to other people out there with type one, people i can relate too.
Yeah, That dose suck not having friends who don't understand our disease. Kit has started a thread about food Nazis so click the link and enjoy on what we think about non diabetics.

Anyway Rob & enjoy your skateboard.

Yes Rob, You can achieve this as you do need more insulin for the foods that you love! As for chocolate though, Take some before you go on your skateboard as the activity will burn off the chocolate that you have just ate.

i have 16 units of levimir in the morning, and 20 at night. and i have 'novorapid (fast acting) during the day when needed.
another reason my BSL is high is because i dont like having insulin at school, i feel intimidated, but i just go to the toilet and do it and stuff everynow and then.
The fast acting is something that you have before you eat and test test test as we do, Or at least I do of 10 - 15 times a day!!

It's good to see that you know what you need to do to take control of your diabetes so as to avoid the nasty things when you are older.
Yes David, He is in the right place.

Yes Mich, This is a great time in your life and to understand diabetes is a journey and to get it right is indeed an art like skateboarding!!
