My endo started me on Symlin when it first came out. At that time Symlin was stating to use no more than 10 units, and to start lower.
Later he said they had found higher doses worked better, and told me to use up to 30 units if I could tolerate. Since I get some nausea with more than 20, and about 15 works very nicely I have stayed at the lower range. Maybe i should go with more, but it does make control a little brittle.
I asked him recently and he said now they are encouraging even higher doses to control appetite and BG's.
How are the post prandials BG's doing? That seems to be where the benefits are, along with the weight loss. I lost 25 lbs right off, have leveled out since then. My A1c's went down about a percentage point too. Not bad.
