You were refering to this calculation :

It is based on the formula :

Total cholesterol = LDL + HDL + (Triglycerides/5)

If you don't know triglycerides but you know all the other values, you can work it out by re-organising the formula :

Tiglycerides = (Total cholesterol - LDL - HDL)*5
