Congratulations on your new found courage to lose weight and get control of your diabetes. Weight loss will help your control, but exercise no matter how mild will also help. If you could purchase a recumbent bike or even just walk, you will find that the weight will peel off much easier. Losing weight by diet alone can be done, but it is much harder.
