I've worked my way up to 22 units at night and that seems to work for my morning numbers. I have been testing before meals and after meals and the numbers before are decent ...always under 120 mostly under 110. But unless I eat virtually no carbs the 2 hour post is 40 to 60 points higher. And don't even ask me what a mug of homemade split pea soup can do. So is this going to be where she says "Humalog?" And is this where I learn what carb counting is? Until this forum I had never hear of this. The other forum I'm on all they talk about is not eating anything white but cauliflower to avoid insulin at all costs. I have a feeling my pancreas has retired and go to Barbados and I need a little more help. I feel that I am missing a lot of nutrition by cutting out almost all carbs. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Thanks! |
