the biopsy is the absolute diagnosis for celiac disease.. I have had this done, after being pretty convinced I was celiac—I wasn't.. it is bad IBS with nuts seeds grains being a big trigger...
My advice would be to have it done as either way it is a definitive answer and having the restrictions of Celiac as well as diabetes is not going to make your life any easier.. so no point in having them if it is unnecessary. my GI said the blood tests alone are not enough to make the diagnosis, just an indicator.
I believe though that Celiac and T1 are related conditions and often occur together. Sorry you are having to go through this, the endoscope biopsy is not too bad and at least you will never have to doubt the diagnosis. You might not realize you have any symptoms, but could be in 6 months without the gluten you will feel fabulous!
