I have two main methods. If all I need is my Humalog, I have a very samll holder that holds two pens and some needle tips. It fits in my wife's pocketbook perfectly, so she winds up with it sometimes. Other times, it fits in a jacket pocket. In the summer, I have a refreezable thing that fits in there and is good for a couple of hours.

Usually, however, I carry everything (and I mean everything in one small bag, The DiaPak Deluxe. It holds my meter (no case needed, as it has a padded section for this), lancets, lancing device, canister of strips. It has holders for two insulin vials, but since I use pens, I use these holders for other things: an Rx vial, and an old strip cannister that is filled with ibuprofen, and a tube of glucose tablets. Also, theres a zippered area that can hold either syringes, or about 40 needle tips. I also keep flat-foil packs of miscellaneous things like decongestant, stomach stuff, etc. I also have a 7-day pill holder for my lisinopril, simvastatin, and aspirin. It also holds at least 4 pens. I used to also keep a Glucagon kit in there, but I don't bother now. It comes with a refreezable ice thingy, but I don't use it now that I have my Frio pouch, which also fits inside this thing (though I have found the Frio works better if it's not inside this). You can get a few more things in there if you needed to.

Now, here's the best part: It folds up to roughly 8 inches x 6 inches by 2.5 inches thick. It is nylon, has a soft webbed handle, and has two D loops through which you can hook the optional strap. Comes in colors. I have black. Folded up, it is a mystery case to anyone looking at it. Kind of looks like a small camera bag. One of these days, I'll take a picture of it with everything out of it, and everything in. I think you would be amazed. I think it sells for about $30 these days. Worth every penny. I had it replaced under the lifetime warranty once because the zipper broke. They had made a few minor improvements in the new one, such as using black mesh instead of white for the inner compartments.

here's a lionk to a store photo of it. I get a lot more in than what theyshow, but it will give you an idea: Dia Pak Deluxe
