Hi there! Congrats on becoming pregnant! It is a journey, I must say, I have had 2 children and working on our 3rd at the moment. I have had T1 diabetes since I was 4 years old, now 31yrs, and I have been pumping for 5 years now. I maintained excellent A1c's during both of my pregnancies mainly due to my eating regime. I ate foods I knew how my body reacted to, basically eating the same types of foods for each meal. Example, breakfast was always cereal + fruit +milk+ cheese, lunch was always some type of sandwich and dinner was usually a salad of some sort with a chicken breast, you get the picture. I ate predictable foods so I didn't have unpredictable blood sugars.
Hope that gives you some food for thought, literally!
Cheers
PS, don't sweat the small stuff, ie one high BG, the key is consistency and we can't be the perfect pancreas all the time.
