Yikes, I do not envy their task.
If/when the flu pandemic arrives (in this lifetime or the next...or the next...or the next.......), I'd
like to think that diabetics in good control (and other healthy individuals living with chronic diseases) will fare better than the average individual who has no immunocompromising condition. There is some evidence that healthy individuals' immune responses "overreact" and that this attack on the virus is what eventually kills these seemingly healthy folks. Finally, some good may come of being diabetic!
