Are you certain it's the oil? I'm curious to know what would happen if you tried some dry.

I've not eaten enough popcorn to have it correctly profiled yet. However, it seems to be about 20% rapid (1:15 finish) and 80% NPH (5:30 finish) for me. I suspect the shape would resemble a delayed square wave...
