Adjust your food intake accordingly to minimize the amount of insulin you need and that will also minimize your hypos, highs, and also avoid weight gain. Your A1c was fine before. Try to get it back down below 6%. Complications set in faster when numbers are above. And those complications will be yours and not your doctor's. You are in charge of managing your own diabetes.
