Welcome to Diabetes Forums baltbob.

Healthy and low carb are two different things. You might try keeping your carb count at a lower level and making sure they are foods that are low on the glycemic index. Simple carbs can be hard on your blood sugar.

If your endo decides that insulin is the best route for you to go, I wouldn't fight him much on it. It will make your food choices a bit easier.
