I thought they already came out with this overseas...

LG made the phone, but not sure if it's available to the public there yet or not.
I also remember previous discussions here about the "cell phone BG meter."
I don't think it'd be a matter of carrier so much, just a matter of manufacturer & phone type (CDMA, GSM). Another viewpoint is that it could be an adaptable piece, like a different type of battery pack, etc. I thought they were working on designing this, but not sure what ever became of it. When I did a search here, I found a few broken links, but I think GlucoTel was one of the companies working on it. They do have a blue tooth meter that looks like it will talk to a cell phone, but then you have an extra meter and it would defeat the purpose of being an all-in-one unit.
I wouldn't give up hope, Scrabblechick. You never know what might be on the horizon in the ever-evolving world of "gadgetry."
