When I lived in Vegas I initially joined a 24-Hr Fitness but left because it was too crowded. Clean, lots of equipment, bright, but too busy. I went a little farther down the road to a Gold’s Gym and liked it a lot better. Not as bright, clean but not as clean, and not near as many people. I realize that it mainly has to do with what time of day you are there but the equipment I wanted to use was “open” much more often.

Now that I live out in the “sticks” and I have more room, I have a treadmill, set of free weights, and a small Nautilus machine in the basement. I miss the more serious equipment you find in a gym like the Smith’s machine and barbells but then I get the exercise I need right downstairs with no annual fee.
