OK i suppose you know that Lantus is a long acting insulin? Try to inject around 20 mins before a meal when you bolus with fast acting, i'm on Novorapid and take Lantus once a day. If you have to inject a few shots to bring down your bg then i advise 1u should bring you down by 3points ( thats in UK measurements tho) retest after abt 15-20 mins
