Deziner124.....I agree with what you said, and I practice it all the time. People don't seem to understand that doctors, dentists, lawyers, whatever, are being paid to give us their opinion and to share their knowledge. It's up to us to decide if and how we use that knowledge.

A doctor can tell you what disease you have or what condition you're in, and he can recommend courses of action. You don't have to follow his course of action. In fact, if you've been reading up on it, you can suggest a treatment to him. If he doesn't think it's a good idea, then he should tell you why it isn't a good idea. Then it's up to you to decide whether or not to have it done.

Doctors are not gods. The best doctor is one who will suggest treatments with you and answer any questions you might have about it. A bad doctor is one who tells you what to do, and isn't willing to discuss other treatment options.
