| With the encounters with neuropathy I've had (mild, transient, so far) the pain is an indication of things getting better - nerves and blood vessels re-awakening, re-adjusting. It can be distressing, I know. But if your blood sugar are improved and you are being a bit more active, this is to be expected.
It takes some time to reverse the damage, it's likely to go on for some weeks or months. It should "pipe down" though. If you feel confident this is what is occuring, remind yourself to think of the pain as a reminder you are alive and getting better. I don't know about relieving it - you could try hot packs, cold packs, massage, putting your feet up, all the usual (taking care of course if you have lowered awareness). If you are physically active more than normal, take it steady, don't push it, to avoid the worst of the pains.
If you think something else is going on, or if you think your awareness is instead worsening, get back to your doctor. In the run of things though, you need to be prepared for a good few months of discomfort.
