Post Hello

Hello everyone, I found out I had type two diabetes 6 months ago. The story behind it is this: I had been sick for about 4 years and I just ain't the one to run off to a doctor because I am as tough as they come..(i am scared as heck of doctors). Anyways, my girlfriends dad has type 2 diabetes and he had an extra tester she braught home and I was rudely awakened one morning with a demand that she was gonna test my surgar level. With a little protest and a lot of nervouse tention I let her do it. Those 5 seconds of the meter registering were the longest in my life. Se said "423" and looked at me. I said, "so what does that mean?" She said I was lucky I was alive. Moments like that will reduce a man or woman to rubble. She got on the phone and made an appointment and the doctor said she wants to see me like yesterday. So I went got my meds (Metformin) and have been on them up until a month ago. My surgar had been reading at 170 - 230 at that time. The last time I took my pills were on a sunday (mothers day) I took my pill that morning and was sick from 9 am to 4 or five pm. At 9 pm I took my second pill and was VERY sick until 4 am the next morning, my stomache felt like pain I have never ever felt in my life except for a bad toothache. I havn't took a pill since. I don't know if it was the flue or not but I have had the flue before and it didn't feel like that. But I do a lot more exercise without it now and my surgar level reads 113 - 130 - 177 - 220. 177 - 220 on the days where i have to just pig out. Ya see I quit smokin, drinking and runnin around since my son was born 4 years ago and went from weighing 170 to weighing 263. Since exercising (but not everyday) and cut out the big gulp pepsi and eating 5 meals a day I now weigh 210. and still losing. Learning how to eat again is very very hard. I try to eat subway sandwiches for supper when i can, they do not affect my blood surgar for some reason. Anyways I'm rambling so ......
