Ahhh, is that the problem, trying to deal with a line still connected? Yes, Rocky is right, you can disconnect, in fact, it is probably fair to say NEVER replace your cartridge whether new or reused, without fully re-priming the line OFF your body, as per official methods.

If you leave the line connected, you risk almost certainly over dosing yourself with unwanted insulin as you manual prime an already full line, plus any bubbles will be in the system.
