The 522 has a choice of Basal Patterns. A standard basal, "A" basal and "B" basal. You can set a pattern that is a % of your standard basal and go to Basal Patterns, use the alternate as long as you want. An open circle shows up on the screen to indicate you are in an alternate pattern.
Does this make sense?
