Hey Lana, welcome to DF! Glad you found us

You'll get many helpful answers here so keep visiting, tell us more about yourself and keep asking questions! Before long you will be an expert in your Diabetes (D). Did your Doctor start you on any medication or give you a home blood sugar (BS) test meter? Check out the book I mention in my signature, plus there is good starter information at sites by David Mendosa... and Dr. Ian Blumer...
Arm yourself with knowledge, but try not to get overwhelmed... don't worry! We have all been there and you will come through it OK

Obesity and Type 2 are strongly associated. Most people assume that Obesity is the cause and Diabetes the effect. It is equally valid to suggest that the underlying metabolic disorder which leads to the Type 2 causes the Obesity.
