| Like the others, I was misdiagnosed T2 at age 52 - after all "older" people get T2, not T1(!!??!!) - even if they're not overweight, are fit and otherwise healthy. . . . At least the GP put me down as "T2???" after ordering a glucose tolerance test, which I failed rather impressively (18mmol/L at 2hours). 6 months later it took an endo to order the GAD antibody test to correctly diagnose me T1/T1.5/LADA (take your pick).
Now, four years on, I've been on insulin MDI for the past year or so, the honeymoon (I agree with Darthdiabetes: bad word to use in this context!) is almost over. |
