| I am Type 1 for 31 years and like to drink. I particularly prefer dry red wine, and beer in hot days. Sometimes others like martiny, occasionaly less amount of whisky and raki (Turkish alcohol). Red wine is very good for health because includes flavonoids (antioxidants) and also reccomended by medical doctors even after myocardial infarctus. However, amount is very important, as others emphasize. To drink dry wine 120 ml/day is enough for being healthy. However I drink more sometimes. Beer, contrary to others, increases my BG. Raki and whisky are the most strenght drinks. I also measure my BG before and several times after drinking and I am very carefull to eat enough. I am also agree that to have a drink after work makes me relaxed and decreases the stress. I also want to emphasize again that anyone who wants to drink, should search her body's reactions to different kind of alcohols and should be aware of the necessity for eating enough and measuring BG more often. Wish good and healthy life to all. |
