| There is nothing complicated about treating lows. You should always have glucose tablets on hand (your doctor should have told you to get some and to carry them at all times). All drug stores sell them. They come 10 in a tube, or 50 in a bottle. I buy tubes and refill them from the bottle. They come in different flavors, all of them yummy. I like the coconut flavor the best. You eat 4 tablets (about 15g carb), wait 15 minutes, and check your BG again. This is known as the 15/15 rule. Your BG should go up about 30 points.
I've also found that an apple works really quickly, too- but they are about 25 grams of carbs.
