I think the myth that your cholesterol come from eating cholesterol has been debunked enough here and other places.
Cutting down the processed carbs, eating more protein, eating more fibrous veggies will all help lower your LDL's and trigs.
I too feel that going low carb calls for more strenth type exercises. Lifting heavy things such as your body or weights will be the most beneficial.
