| That's basically what happened to me. I was first diagnosed as Type 2. The dr. put me on 1 Metformin, then 2, then 3, then glipizide. With each change in dosage my numbers went higher. I was diagnosed with fasting bs at 131 and 117. This whole process started in Dec. of 2005 and finally in late April 2006 I was tested for T1 antibodies, etc. That's when they figured out that I am actually Type 1. For what it's worth, I was 32 when my symptoms of diabetes started. I am now 35.
