Periods do play a major part in blood sugar levels. But not to that amount.
It's just a surgestion but if she is going hypo like that and still low after eating with no insulin. I would ask her Dr to test her cortisol levels.
I used to hypo and end up eating 500 carbs with no insulin and still be low.
Tests came back positive for addison's disease.
