I agree that the media get confused with Type 1 and Type 2, but I also believe that there are many Type 1s here on DF who have found that reducing carbs helps to maintain a good BS level. I also think this article is misleading in talking of a "cure"... I believe that the people diagnosed with Type 2 will have to watch how they eat for the remainder of their lives.
As for the relative fat levels in a McD and the eskimo diet... the eskimo (inuit) eat/ate far more fat than a McD - ever hear of blubber? The fat = heart disease connection is a myth... it has not been scientifically proven... despite what you have been told by the media
