Welcome to the forums. Walking, swimming, golf, cycle - the best exercise is a form that will keep your interest and so you will keep doing it. Just be careful, if your numbers are high (above 200) it is generally not advised to exercise.
As far a bread is concerned, bread tends to be high in carbs and so people tend to be very careful about the type and amount they eat. I have found a local wholemeal bread, which in small quantities works well for me.
If you could tell us more about you, where you are, what meds you take, how long you are diagnosed, you recent numbers/levels and how you manage your diabetes - people may be able to offer more help.
If you are a newly diagnosed T2 then I would recommend the book "The First Year: Type 2 Diabetes" by Gretchen Becker, it is easy to read and very informative.
