Fractured My Arm :-(

Hello Again Friends!
And so my saga continues....I shall do a brief up-date for those who do not know me that well....
got diagnosed T1 in May this yr. Doing great for first 4 months then went back to work ( on a cruise ship ) and then slowly the intense work load and heavy excersise ( I'm a Dancer ) took it's toll on my body and ended uploosing a ton of weight and going hypo 2 a day and feeling like I was hitting rock bottom. Finally sorted out the hypo thing ( thanks to your help) and saw an Endo when we docked and had been progressivley doing much MUCH better....until wham.....fell over and SNAP goes my arm.
Bad break....had surgery last week...plates and screws and now just waiting for clearance to fly home.....( back to square one...home again.
I guess I just want to know...my fall was not that hard or bad and yet such a bad break. Is there any knowledge of weak bones in diabetics??? It just seems like I am weak...I don't know and need some advise if this is a side effect of this disease what precautions should I take??? Apart from the obvious of calcium....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Love from
Siri x
