If so, it would have been a misdiagnosis. Type 1s will require insulin sooner or later. That's why it's called a honeymoon - it sure doesn't last forever.

I was diagnosed late, but I can guess roughly when my BG started to go awry because problems started occurring, but was not diagnosed. Then on DX a few months passed and I was on full strength. So a rough guess I'd say my honeymoon lasted from 8 months to 16 months.
