I have recently noticed that I tend to itch a whole lot more than usual. I mainly have the problem with my elbows and legs. It's funny that you mention scratching yourself so much in your sleep that you wake up because of the burning. That actually happened to me last night! I looked at the back of my leg and I seemed to have clawed myself at some point in the night. It made the shower this morning less than comfortable! I am not sure if this has anything to do with my diabetes. It is something on my list of things to bring up to my doctor when I go next month that's for sure!
