I fail to see how a pre-diabetic not on insulin and not having exercised to excess could have gone so low. Is what you experienced possibly reactive hypoglycemia that prompted a liver dump?

I usually take ONE glucose tablet to treat a hypo (because a 4g carb glucose tab raises me 20 points). Then I wait 15 minutes and test. If need be, I take another and repeat the process. I never treat a hypo with more than one glucose tab at a time or food because it's so easy to overtreat. Since each gram of carbohydrate can potentially raise you 5 points, the 30 grams you consumed could raise your BGs up to 150 points which doesn't account for your BGs to have gone up to 217.
