| Hi and welcome to the forums. It would probably help if you shared some more information about how you are managing your diabetes, are you taking any medication?
I would recommend you get a book called "The first year -Type 2 diabetes" by Gretchen Becker, I found it easy to read and very informative.
As far as what to eat to control your BS levels. The best way to develop your own diet is to test, test, test. Testing is the key to learning what foods work for you and which are best avoided. If you test before each meal and the 2 hours after first bite you will learn how what you ate impacted on your BS.
Personally I find eating low carb works for me, it doesn't work for everyone. I tend to avoid things like rice, pasta, white bread and potatoes as they are very high in carbs.
My targets for BS levels are:
Fasting (morning): < 6.1 (110)
2 Hours after first bite: <7.7 (140)
If you are not at those numbers, don't panic, you can and will get there.
Ask lots of questions and you will learn quickly,
