wow. broad question.
there are four caloric main food groups. carbohydrate, protein, fat and alcohol.
GENERAL RULES

all carbohydrate raise BG fast.
protein raises BG slowly and not as much as carbohydrate (gram for gram).
fat and alcohol have little effect on BGL levels.
you need to test and see what each type of food does to you specifically. if your blood glucose is higher than you want you need to consume less carbohydrate and protein, increase the amount of insulin in your bloodstream or increase the sensitivity of your body to insulin.
or all three of the above...
therefore, as you can see no general diet rules exist. you need to tell us more about what your levels are, how often you test, what supplements or meds you take and what you eat...
