If You did Not take any steroids or insulin before becoming diabetic, then really, these statements don't apply to you. What I believe Meech may have meant (as I know I did) was that the people who think they "Need" to take insulin, steroids or any other drugs to enhance them or their bodies
are foolish, and could indeed cause harm to themselves or their health down the road. If it's not necessary, why take it? I worked as a vet. tech for several years, and in that time, saw many animals that used Prednisone (a Steroid) to treat rashes and other conditions. These same animals developed Diabetes a couple of years later. Steroids (i.e. Decadron) are also used to treat cancer (to prevent nausea and to reduce tumor size), and cause weight gain along with other side effects. That's where my "bias" ("prejudice") comes from.
