| Statines and blood sugar level Hello everybody,
I discover your forum surfing on web and searching something related with the subject.
Four years ago I had a car crash and one of the result was a stent mounted on anterior atrioventriculary artery. Since then I toked Sortis (atorvastatine). Always my blood sugar, in the morning, was 65-70. Together with my physician we decide to stop wit Sortis (some liver pains and increased levels of GOT and GPT indicate a break could be good). After two months of brake I made another set of tests and we see my cholesterol level is back to 220 (like it was before treatment - with 10 mg Sortis daily I had 110; with 20 mg Sortis it was to low 60!).
Because also triglycerides level was high we decide to have also 160 mg of Lipanthyl (fenofibratum). After a week something made me to check my blood sugar. I do it with an Abbot Optium Exceed instrument using tests from 43889 batch. Blood sugar level was each morning 114-120!!! First I blame Lipanthyl (I took statines before and had no problems). I stoped Lipanthyl and the blod sugar remane the same!!!. I will contact my physician today and we decide what to do. I will keep you all informed.(P.S. I am pharmacyst)
