I'm using a One Touch Ultra and have had no problems with it. I use a Mini to verify if I think a reading is out of line, but so far they're always within 5 points of each other.

As for Lifescan software I agree - it's clunky. You'd think that some of the profits they glean from the outrageous price of their strips could be used to provide a more thoughtfully designed package.
