I have a box of tissue on my test. After I test, I put the strip inside the tissue so that housekeeping will not inadvertantly come in contact with my blood. I keep a water bottle with a lid on my desk, and put my lancets there (I reuse my lancets, so a bottle lasts a long time). When it becomes full, I put the lid on, place a piece of tape over it and put it in the trash.
I don't lick.....ever! Royal blood I guess!

T2, diagnosed 8/31/06.
Metformin 500 mg twice daily
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets

11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (after dealing with shingles & bronchiti)
