As far as I'm aware you can buy insulin over the counter in some SE Asian countries, such as Thailand. Otherwise it's probably worth your doctor writing you a script for your usual order and then seeing a doctor wherever to ask for them to write you a prescription for the local market. You'll have to pay for medicines abroad though.

I'd suggest you take as much as possible for your first two months in Asia (if storage isn't a problem) and then renew your prescriptions in Australia, I'd imagine it will be easier to do that in Oz.
